Kava was born in Vanuatu about 3,000 years ago, and Pacific Islanders have been preparing and sharing the root ever since — in ceremony, and at the end of a regular day. Ours comes from one island (Epi), one noble cultivar (Kelai), and we use only the root. What it’s known for is a settled, easy kind of calm. Your shoulders drop. You don’t.

It’s a tropical tree from Southeast Asia, and a cousin of the coffee plant. Farmers and field workers have chewed and brewed the leaf for generations to stay alert through long days. We use 75mg of mitragyna speciosa leaf extract per serving, and we print that number on every bottle.
